Actress Aahana Kumra has reportedly received death threats on social media following her remarks about co-contestant Dhanashree Verma after her eviction from the reality show Rise and Fall. The Aahana Kumra Death Threats controversy began when she accused Dhanashree of playing the victim card by repeatedly discussing her divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal during the show.
Kumra later clarified her comments in an interview. She said her words were taken out of context and that every contestant decides what to reveal on national television. When you appear on a reality show a lot of your past surfaces. How you choose to present it is up to you she said.
The actress also denied calling Dhanashree spicy. She stated that any such remarks would have been caught on camera. Despite her clarification the backlash online intensified. Several users sent abusive messages and threats to Kumra’s social media accounts.
The makers of Rise and Fall hosted by Ashneer Grover have not yet commented on the incident. Fans and industry colleagues have urged authorities to take note of the death threats against Aahana Kumra calling for stronger action against online harassment in the entertainment industry.
