OpenAI has signed a massive deal with AMD that will transform the AI industry. The agreement allows OpenAI to buy a ten percent stake in AMD and deploy hundreds of thousands of AMD AI chips over the coming years.

The partnership will support OpenAI in building large datacenters using AMD MI450 series chips starting next year. The facility will consume about one gigawatt of power enough to serve millions of homes. OpenAI also has the option to buy up to 160 million AMD shares at a minimal price during the term of the deal.
AMD executives expect tens of billions of dollars in revenue from the deal. They said the agreement could generate over one hundred billion dollars in revenue over four years from OpenAI and other customers.
