Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez has mocked her longtime rival Tom Homan after new reports revealed that the former Trump border official was linked to an FBI bribery sting. MSNBC reported that federal agents posing as business executives recorded Homan accepting fifty thousand dollars in cash during the summer of 2024. The money was allegedly offered in exchange for government contracts if Trump secured a second term.
AOC retweeted a post about the case and used the moment to jab at Homan who has often clashed with her in public. Their feud goes back to 2019 when AOC grilled him during a House hearing over his support for harsh deportation policies. Earlier this year Homan called her the “dumbest woman ever elected to Congress” after she hosted an immigrant rights webinar. AOC responded by calling him a coward.
Homan who once served as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement later became a Fox News commentator and a contributor to the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025. His record on immigration has long made him a controversial figure.

Although the FBI gathered evidence the Justice Department under Trump chose not to pursue the case calling it a “deep state” probe. The investigation has since been closed without charges. Critics argue this shows political interference at the highest levels.
Lawmakers and commentators reacted strongly to the revelations. Rep. Pramila Jayapal said Homan should be in jail and called Trump’s team the most corrupt administration in history. Political strategists and legal experts also urged Congress to demand access to the full investigative file and question officials who shut the case down.
Analysts across the political spectrum expressed outrage that the allegations were buried. Some noted that while Americans are familiar with Trump era controversies this case highlights how corruption was shielded rather than punished.
The story continues to fuel heated debate with many demanding accountability not only for Tom Homan but also for those who allowed the case to be buried.
