ISLAMABAD Pakistan has officially started new programs to teach IT and digital skills to its youth as part of a national push for progress and development. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan unveiled multiple initiatives designed to prepare the next generation for modern industrial and technological challenges.
The projects include an Artificial Intelligence and Digital Twin Centre, a Women Digital Skills Development Centre, and a Mining and Mineral Processing Technology Centre. These efforts are being launched under the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to ensure that Pakistani youth can compete on a global level.

Haroon Akhtar noted that other countries are rapidly advancing in AI and technology, and Pakistan must follow suit to stay competitive. He also announced new seafood processing plants meat packaging facilities and a Research and Development Centre in Gujranwala to support industrial growth.
He appreciated PITAC’s efforts in introducing modern skill training and English courses stressing that both men and women must have equal opportunities to learn. He added that modern IT skills will help reduce poverty and open global job opportunities, giving Pakistan’s young population a vital role in driving the nation’s economic future.
